The workshop, held on September 9th under the coordination of Sabancı University Sustainability Manager Pelin Nur Karaçal, brought together diverse experts to develop a shared vision that will enhance our sustainability communication.
The thematic question, "How can we facilitate Sabancı University's implementation of its Sustainability Strategy?" was shared with the working, thinking, and learning individuals in the sustainability partner group. New areas of sharing and focus questions were created during the sessions by participants with expertise in their respective fields. This facilitated the communication of new perspectives.
Embracing the principles of transparency and fairness, meaningful conversations were facilitated through the collective sharing of knowledge by participants. Around this key question, we gathered around a circle using communication styles we don't often practice today, opening up the communication space, and groups shaped by the participants were formed. Numerous action plans were shaped based on the discussions during the session.
Combating Violence and Gender Equality
The main agenda items discussed at the Open Space Workshop were as follows: conducting a social impact assessment analysis for the university, addressing sustainability as a common denominator in campus life and academic life, preparing a broad-based sustainability report, implementing training and workshops (focused on focus groups), establishing social contribution measurement systems, increasing the communication and visibility of sustainability efforts, and taking concrete steps to integrate combating violence and gender equality into campus activities.
